Programs and Services

Clinical and Psychiatric Evaluations: Prior to the start of treatment, an extensive evaluation is completed on every individual. This in-depth assessment ensures that a proper diagnosis and treatment plan can be made to guarantee effective treatment. The evaluation of a child or adolescent often includes a school observation. This tool provides the clinician with valuable diagnostic information. Psychiatric evaluations are conducted by a board certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and a board certified Adult Psychiatrist.

Individual, Group and Family Therapy: Clients are provided individual, group, family and marital therapy. The Center provides psychoeducational and therapeutic groups. Groups are designed to provide participants healthy coping and life skills. The focus is to improve anger management, conflict resolution, social skills, family functioning, depression and anxiety.

Parent Management Training Program: This twelve week course provides parents and caregivers with an understanding of their child's disorders and behaviors and teaches parents effective parenting skills, communication, problem solving techniques, and enhances family unity.

Liaison and Advocacy Services: CFI provides liaison and advocacy services to school systems, community agencies, and daycare facilities to ensure that clients are receivigng the appropriate educational services and care. These services include:

  • School and Daycare Observations
  • Attending Planning and Placement Team Meetings to advocate for students educational rights
  • Assisting educators in developing Individualized Educational Plans and School Behavioral Plans
  • Attending 504 meetings to assist educators in developing modifications and techniques to enhance disabled student's learning
  • Providing case management, coordination of treatment and discharge planning through collaboration with community agencies
  • Attending meetings with Juvenile Probation, Adult Probation, DCF, System of Care
  • Providing training and consultation to participant's schools to increase educator's knowledge and expertise in teaching the student with mental health issues
